The hotel’s striking design is the fruit of the imagination of one of France’s foremost architects and urbanists, Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Having lent his talents to other prestigious projects in France and throughout the world, from the Grand Palais in Paris to the United Nations offices in Senegal, he devoted two years to this ambitious endeavour with Novotel between 2017 and 2019.
Reaching towards the sky in front of the hotel is a colourful and contemporary bouquet of flowers – to bid guests a warm welcome when they arrive. Created by artist Arne Quinze, “The Beautiful Dreamer” represents the return of nature to the city, echoing the metamorphosis that takes place with every passing exhibition at Parc Expo Porte de Versailles.
Look across the street towards Pavilion 6 to see one of Jean Nouvel’s latest works of art. The famous architect of the Arab World Institute in Paris and the phenomenal Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi has combined modern art and practicality in this piece that announces the exhibitions while astounding the eye.
